How to Measure Your Nails at Home
Method 1: Using a Soft Measuring Tape (Recommended)
- Hold a flexible measuring tape horizontally across the widest curvature of your natural nail bed (usually near the center).
- Press the tape firmly against the side walls of your nail to account for your natural nail curve.
- Record the measurement in millimeters (mm) for all 5 fingers (Thumb, Index, Middle, Ring, Pinky).
Method 2: Using Clear Tape & a Ruler (No Soft Tape Needed)
- Place a piece of clear sticky tape horizontally across the widest part of your nail bed.
- Press down firmly into the creases on both sides and use a fine-tip pen to mark the left and right edges of your nail.
- Peel off the tape, place it on a flat surface, and measure the distance between the two marks using a standard millimeter (mm) ruler.
